Tribute Films

A portfolio of our older work

At the start of my career, many of my films were made using characters or story elements from pre-existing material. Doing this allowed me work with familiar and safe material as I began to strengthen my filmmaking chops. The films have a beautifully amateurish charm to them, and remain some of the most fun filmmaking experiences I’ve had. Please enjoy the tribute films.

Young Indiana Jones and the Samurai Sword

This film was the final "fan film" I created. I made this film after graduating high school in 2003, but before starting college. It was one of the greatest learning experiences I have had as a filmmaker.

The production was strung out over the months of June, July and August. My crew and I traveled across the entire state of Wisconsin looking for locations and filming this movie.

The summer culminated in a premiere at a local theatre. It was an incredible experience, and while the film is in many ways very primitive, there are so many things in it of which I am still very proud.

Ghostbusters III

This film was shot over the summer of 2002. It is the first film I made in which I began to take the filmmaking process more seriously. Unfortunately the project is incomplete. What we have available are the first few scenes from a film that is roughly forty-five minutes in length.

The filming is nearly complete, as it has been for several years now. Finishing it remains on the back, back-burner of priorities, but who knows, perhaps this summer I may find some time to finally release the full movie…

This film is a parody on the German film Run Lola Run. It was made for my German class during my junior year of high school. The film was directed and edited by myself and starred several classmates.
